Who you might be
Mock Trial isn't only an activity for aspiring attorneys; its an activity for anyone who loves to perform. You'll have the option of a witness-only tryout, allowing you to showcase what you do best if you don't see yourself as an attorney. You don't need to have previous mock trial experience, be a first-year student, or a poli-sci or philosophy major. We're looking for students who can perform, period. In the past, this has included students with no public speaking experience whatsoever, students entering their third and fourth years, and students studying chemistry, computer science, and economics.

Who you will become
College Mock Trial will hone your ability to perform under pressure, prepare beforehand, and express yourself eloquently. You'll build skills in collaboration, presentation, and adaptation that will translate beyond the courtroom. What you will be a part of
On top of personal skills, you'll build personal relationships. While winning is a top priority, UCSB Mock Trial is a team first. You'll find yourself thrust into a diverse, supportive community, with access to an incredible support system. You'll build friendships that extend beyond the courtroom: into advice on classes from seniors in your major, job opportunities passed down from member-to-member, and ~maybe~ even a party or two.
